Attila Mete – Director
Attila is a dedicated, pragmatic and innovative lawyer with over twenty years of experience as a practicing lawyer. He prides himself on building rapport with clients to ensure he can provide them with advice best tailored to their personal circumstances.
Attila has a substantial commercial practice appearing as an advocate and instructing Solicitor in large scale litigation matters including in the County Court of Victoria, Supreme Court of Victoria, Federal Court of Australia and High Court of Australia.
Attila provides strategic advice to individuals and companies with respect to disputes, commercial transactions, property and building matters, criminal matters and family law matters. He has a strong business acumen and a commonsense approach to find pragmatic solutions, however, is also committed to ensuring his clients achieve the best possible outcome.
Attila has an extensive background in immigration law both with primary applications and appeals to the Administrative Review Tribunal and Federal Court of Australia. He provides immigration advice to professional sporting clubs, individuals and companies.
Attila has an unwavering commitment to providing care and guidance to all his clients. He has assisted many large corporations with transactions and litigations and has been committed to substantial pro bono work throughout his career.
He has also volunteered his time and been appointed to several boards for various community organisations including Business Counsels and Housing Cooperatives.
In his spare time, Attila enjoys spending time with friends and family and watching sport at any level if the opportunity arises.
Kate Coffey – Partner
Kate is a passionate lawyer dedicated to obtaining the best possible outcomes for her clients. She specialises in Immigration and Family Law and has a strong understanding of complex matters that transverse both practice areas, having practiced in these areas for more than ten years.
In addition to a Bachelor of Arts in International and Economics from the University of Melbourne and a Juris Doctor Degree in Law, Kate has completed a Graduate Certificate in Migration Law. She is experienced in providing strategic immigration advice, preparing visa and citizenship applications, and appearing in Tribunal and Court matters including for visa cancellation and citizenship matters. She is the current Co-Chair of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Refugee Law Reform Committee and is passionate about helping create change for vulnerable members of the community.
Kate has completed a Master Degree of Applied Law (Family Law) and has an established Family Law practice assisting clients resolve their family law matters including financial, parenting and family violence matters in a pragmatic matter. She provides forthright advice and aims to assist clients resolve matters without litigation where possible.
Kate appreciates the legal process can be daunting for clients and that there is a need to listen, show empathy and kindness. She is committed to ongoing education and continued professional development to ensure she is well positioned to assist her clients and colleagues.
In her spare time, Kate coaches basketball, supports the Richmond Tigers and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Aynur Mete – Manager
The heart and soul of AUM Lawyers, Aynur ensures that our office runs efficiently while also providing an incredible level of care for our clients to ensure they understand the financial and administrative aspects of their matters. She always provides empathy and support to our clients, as she understands their matters are very important to them.
Aynur also keeps our lawyers on track providing them with guidance and support and ensuring our firm adheres to our regulatory, ethical, record keeping and practice management requirements. Her degree in Commerce and experience in accounting allow her to draw on her strong financial acumen to ensure the firm is efficiently run and compliant.
In her spare time, Aynur loves to walk her dog Coco and attend soccer games with her family.
Julia Diab – Solicitor
Julia is an intelligent lawyer with a strong eye for detail who is dedicated to assisting her clients in a sensible and thoughtful manner.
Julias holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) and a Bachelor of International Relations from La Trobe University. While completing her studies, she completed a thesis examining protection visa cancellations under s501 of the Migration Act, studied at Shanghai University in China and received accolades for her advocacy skills.
Since being admitted to practice, she has drawn on her strong academic background and has built a strong practice in property and conveyancing, commercial law and immigration law. She is committed to always enhancing her skills through continued professional development.
Julia prides herself on her ability to understand the needs of her client, provide strategic advice and ensure matters run efficiently to provide solutions for clients while also providing guidance and compassion to her clients.
In her spare time, Julia enjoys ballet, walking and travel.
Lisa Marie Quinn – Solicitor
Lisa Marie is an intelligent, empathetic and dedicated lawyer who genuinely cares for her clients.
Lisa Marie completed her Bachelor of Laws at Deakin University. She was admitted to practice in June 2025. She has worked as a Paralegal and completed Supervised Legal Training under the mentorship of senior lawyers at our firm ensuring she has many years of experience in the industry.
Since joining the firm, Lisa Marie has gained hands-on experience in case preparation, preparing legal submissions, providing client support, and conducting detailed legal research in each area of practice, including immigration law, family law and commercial law.
Lisa Marie is passionate about migration law, and her interest in this area has continued to develop throughout her employment with our firm. She is committed to enhancing her legal skills and knowledge, with a focus on helping clients navigate the complex legal system with empathy and understanding.
In her spare time, Lisa Marie enjoys travelling, reading, listening to podcasts, and spending time with family and friends.
Melda Kalinkara – Paralegal
Melda provides paralegal support to our lawyers. She is proactive, enthusiastic and always helpful to her colleagues and clients helping our firm run efficiently and ensuring our lawyers are well placed to provide efficient legal solutions. She is experienced in drafting and legal research.
Melda is currently completing her Bachelor of Law (Honours) and Criminology and completed a six-month exchange program at the University of Leicester. While studying, in addition to working as a paralegal with our firm, she has volunteered at the Whittlesea Community Divorce Clinic and Kildonan Family Violence Clinic.
In her spare time, Melda likes to read, travel and do Pilates.
